ASSISTANT/ SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER
Job Description
· Engage supplier and negotiate for the best deal for the company
· Perform supply chain cost analysis and implement cost efficient and effective purchasing strategies
· Establish contracts with key suppliers, establish pricing for tenders and support production activities
· Work with the materials and planning team, and co-ordinate engineering changes with other department to ensure on-time and efficient deliveries of product with the right quality at the right time.
· Including support for warranty claims of defective components and ensuring its quick repair turn-around-time to satisfy customer demands
· Work closely with Designers and Quality team to identify new components / prototypes and develop new and existing suppliers
· Manage PR/PO as well as purchase forecast to suppliers inclusive of rescheduling to meet changes in demand
· Monitor performance of suppliers to meet objectives in the area of quality, flexibility, inventory control and actively engages suppliers with regard to quality and production complaints (supplier evaluation and supplier development)
Requirement:
· Degree in any discipline with at least 3 years relevant experience or Engineering diploma with more than 7 years of experience in sourcing & negotiating
· A team player who enjoys a teamwork environment and is able to communicate with individuals at all levels/positions
· Independent, self-motivated, result oriented with ability to work under pressure and willing to work beyond normal call of duty
· ERP(SAP) knowledge with a keen interest in automobiles will be an advantage
· Ability to interpret within established procedures (including regulatory requirements) and practices and to exercise independent sound judgment in complex situations
