Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the on time delivery, budget and quality of purchased material
Purchase materials, components and equipment as driven by customer’s BOM and drawing
Prepare material take-off base on customer’s BOM and drawing
Gather quotations, examine and compare quotations, and issue PO with detailing of material, component and equipment specification to suppliers
Evaluate supplier’s reliability and develop new supply sources
Track, highlight and expedite delivery of each issued PO with suppliers
Ability to interact with supplier on matters relating to the materials, components and equipment requirement
Develop contractual or consignment agreement with chosen suppliers based on the goal of reducing the cost of ownership
Perform all other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications/Work Experience
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
Previous planning/purchasing experience in manufacturing/fabrication, oil and gas or related industry
Ability to understand BOM and interpret customer’s drawings
Able to perform Material take-off
Excellent time management and ability to prioritize work load
Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications
Prefer those currently working as buyer, buying steel/metal
