Solution Architect (Pre-Sales) – RQ-13-01119
- To perform this role effectively, the SA must have the following working experience and hand-on knowledge of the technology listed below.
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in the delivery of medium- and large-scale infrastructure outsourcing project and implementation project.
- Must have at least 5 years of solid hand-on experience providing administrative and troubleshooting support for one the following environment.
- Unix (Solaris, HP-UX or AIX)
- Windows 2003/2008.
- Excellent project handling skills in terms of planning and leading a presale solutioning project comprising presale consultants from different teams.
- Experienced and familiar with TCP/IP networking, Unix servers, Wintel servers, SAN, enterprise backup, infrastructure monitoring, load balancer, firewall, IDS/IPS and high availability solution, application middleware, database, etc.
- Excellent customer relationship management, sub-contractor management, interpersonal, presentation and proposal writing skills.
- Good knowledge on the following technologies.
- Structured Cabling
- Network, e.g. Cisco
- Network Management System
- IPSEC/SSL VPN
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Messaging, e.g. Exchange, Notes
- Database, e.g. Oracle
- Application Middleware, e.g. Weblogic, Websphere, etc.
- Client/server architecture, web-based tier architecture
- Ability to understand the different product licensing schemes and consolidate the proposal pricing and cost sheet.
RESPONSIBILITY
- Provide consultative selling approach, share with customer's senior management clients Technology Solutions and Managed Services
- Understand customer's requirements and translate into technical and process requirements
- Provide Technology solutions and service for Managed Services.
- Establish relationship with customer's technical (working) levels.
- Together with SS, identify resource requirements to support the opportunity, eg. BU, Priming SDC, Presales
- Acquire in-depth understanding of customer's requirement, sourcing objectives and technical terms & conditions.
- Lead, manage and work with respective competency presales to design the overall solution and architecture, and ensure that the solution is cost effective/competitive and the integration of the entire end-to-end solution and services meets requirements.
- Work with SS and BU AM on the bidding schedule and milestones.
- Risk identification, mitigation, management.
- Write the contents of the solution for the RFI, tender, RFP, RFQ: scope, deliverables, criteria for acceptance, project team structure, roles and responsibilities of ours and customer, service writeup, appendix, assumptions, project schedule, etc.
- Integrate the solutions write-up and schedule from the various competency presales.
- Ensure that Technical T&Cs are handled and managed.
- Conduct/lead the technical presentation and clarification.
- For BAS-primed opportunities, advise BAS on the technical compliance on infrastructure (including security) related requirements/specifications. Provide advice on infrastructure design/sizing to support the BAS proposed applications.
- Work out costing details, assist SS or BU AM to consolidate the costing for solution
- Work with Product Group, relevant vendors to obtain the quotations for the solution, negotiate for best price with Bid Manager/Product Manager
- Upon contract award, conduct transition/handover and briefing to implementation and operations team to understand the overall solution design and services.
- Work with Competency Pre-sales to update new service features and product development.
